This is a simple piece of Native Gold, but the beauty of this specimen is in the simplicity of it. Without the distraction of a matrix, it is easy to get lost in the incredibly organic shape of this piece, which is brimming with fine textures, aesthetic negative spaces, and exquisite shaping around all of its curves and edges. The overall plate is flat, yet delightfully convex. This specimen was etched out from the original Quartz matrix that is associated with the Eagle's Nest Mine, resulting in this intricate texture that throws light around in a lustrous display. The specimen appears quite fragile due to the small twisting arms, but, as with most native elements, this Gold is deceptively sturdy. This specimen is totally metallic, and extremely bright, a quality that is particular to Gold and really no other mineral species out there.
