Presented on a custom black metal armature, this fossil represents a large elongated Mammoth tooth. From the unusual and exotic locality of the Rhine River in Germany, this offering displays the complete grinding surface to the tooth with a granular black, highly textural preservation. The pattern covered in mineralization is consistent and obvious over the surface of the example of Pleistocene dentition. With incredible size, the contrasting colors of pinkish-tan and black give the fossil a lot of visual appeal. Only the absence of any real root system is any negative for this rather unique specimen of a common fossil.
