This singular fossilized crocodilian tooth from Deinosuchus is relatively complete although it appears the tip may have been broken prior to fossilization, and much of the root has not been preserved. However, the specimen is actually rather impressive looking like a spent "bullet" with a conical point and striations akin to rifling impressions from a gun barrel. The fossil is a mixture of multiple brownish hues and such a specimen from the ominous prehistoric crocodile certainly looks the part, especially when considering it is just one of many teeth in the powerful jaws of the ancient creature. The individual tooth is quite large.
