The Japan-Law Twin habit of Quartz is one of the most easily recognizable twinning laws of the species, distinguished by the two ends of the crystal growing on the same plane, and typically in a very tabular but defined shape. This example is very large and very transparent, surrounded by a little garden of more untwinned but nicely pointed Quartz crystals. Around the base of the cluster are inclusions of bright iron oxide, which imparts a nice orange color.

More Information: This specimen is in good condition, with some cleaved points around the base.
