This rather sizable and extremely thick slab weighs a stout 1.4 kilograms (3 pounds), is polished on both sides, and features an intense reddish overall hue. The "gemmy" material is Dinosaur Bone out of Utah, and the key attribute of this substantial offering is the elongated crystalline marrow cavity. Agatized to result in its preserved rocky nature, the massive bone is top quality due to size, coloration, and form. A flat base, and for that matter a flat top, allows the piece to stand in a vertical orientation without any need for a base. Either side could be the primary display face of this monstrous example that showcases the preserved trabecular structure of the once organic material that is now a contrasting myriad of red, orange, brown, and black. The specimen measures 7 inches (18 cm) and is a full 1 inch (2.5 cm) in depth.
