Description
A Rare Huari/Tiahuanaco Gold PlumePeru, c. 400 - 700 AD
A finely hammered headress ornament with a long sharply pointed pin for attachment. The expanding plume with a curved row of holes with gold disc dangles each attached by two gold threads. A serrated edge to this lower section, the terminals with downward facing feline heads in profile. Above are three tall plumes each ending in the classic Huari/Tiahuanaco feline head profile each with an oval eye and baring teeth. Another animal head visible facing the opposite direction. In very good condition, minor color variations to the gold surface.
