A Sukuma Male Figure
Tanzania, First half of the 20th century

Weathered wood with a rusted metal plate covering a large rectangular cavity on his abdomen. He turns his head to his left, and his placid rectangular facial features lend him an air of abstraction. In good condition, appropriate for age, mediums, and use outdoors, areas eroded, cracked, and the metal rusted. Mounted to a wood base.
