A VIENNESE SILVER, SILVER GILT AND ENAMEL FIGURAL DESK CLOCK
Attributed to Hermann Böhm, Vienna, Austria, circa 1880
Marks: case unmarked; movement marked George Gratz, in Wien
9 x 6-3/4 x 4-1/8 inches (22.9 x 17.1 x 10.5 cm)

The figural desk clock with Moorish figure and camel with enameled harness and saddle on rock work base, supporting clock within enameled case, the clock with enamel and silver face, the back with enamel scene of Zeus and his family, the clock case crowned by a cast seated figure with upraised goblet, the whole on oval base with applied enameled figural, fountain, scroll and bird decoration to drum, the spreading conforming base with enameled floral decoration on gold ground centering six oval cartouches of classical mythological subjects, separated by cast and enameled angel heads, the whole raised on six winged angel feet. The underside of the base enameled with scroll decoration on white ground centering six oval cartouches with landscape decoration.
