RHODONITE
Chiurucu Mine, Dos de Mayo Province, Huánuco Department, Peru

Back in the 1990s, a discovery of a weird, bladed pink mineral was made at the Chiurucu Mine in Peru. It turned out to be Rhodonite showing an odd crystal habit for that mineral. Bubble-gum pink blades fan out over the surface of the gray and black matrix. Sprinkled over the entire upper surface are light dustings of tiny, sparkling Quartz crystals. There is no good way to tell if any of the blades are broken, so all we can say is that it appears to be in excellent condition.
