The most fascinating quality about the Galena cluster on this specimen is the subtle changes in elevation and direction of the surfaces; this creates "sections" on the Galena crystals that all reflect light slightly differently from each other, creating a dynamic sheen in an almost meteoric way. This is of course accentuated by the highly metallic luster of the interlocking Galena cluster. Supporting this Galena is a pedestal-like matrix of finely crystallized, pale Calcite, which is scattered over by richly iridescent red Chalcopyrite crystals, and smaller, modified little crystals of associated Galena. Overall, this hefty specimen displays excellent aesthetics, a quality not often seen on larger Sweetwater Mine pieces. This specimen comes with a custom engraved acrylic base.
