"Grape" Agate

This specimen of "Grape Agate," which is actually a specific kind of Quartz var. Chalcedony, gets its nickname from the well-isolated botryoidal crystals that proliferate over the entirety of this specimen. This is a large example, which one particularly big botryoide acting as a focal point. The color is a beautiful mauve, with some areas transitioning into a deep forest green, possibly caused by some amphibole or chlorite inclusions. The luster is glittery and fine, caused by the microcrystalline textures that formed over all of the Chalcedony bubbles.
