Hector Silva is a Los Angeles-based self-taught artist celebrated for his delicate pencil renderings and exploration of Latino and queer identity. Born in Jalisco, Mexico, Silva immigrated to the U.S. at age 17 and has since built a 30-year career bridging intimacy and social critique. His works examine cultural identity, eroticism, and spirituality with striking realism and sensitivity to light and shadow. Silva's art has been recognized by the City of Los Angeles and the State of California for its cultural contributions. Advocating for accessibility in art, Silva rejects elitism in favor of inclusion-creating truthful, emotional, and politically conscious imagery that resonates across communities.
