The Maloof Collection of Vivian Maier sold for the benefit of the Soi Dog Foundation

While it's estimated that Vivian Maier took upwards of 100,000 photos, the vast majority of her work surfaced as negatives, making all vintage prints exceedingly rare. With sophisticated use of sunlight, scale, and of course, the enduringly appealing feline subject, this is among the best vintage examples to surface. Adding additional significance to the lot, this work was exhibited at the first exhibition of Maier's work at the Chicago cultural center.
