One of Texas's most accomplished and acclaimed woman artists, Coreen Spellman was a master printmaker, watercolorist, and oil painter. In the summer of 1933, she traveled to Provincetown, a trip that would forever change her art. In Provincetown she became exposed to the Precisionists, whose simplified geometric forms and severe clean-cut lines are apparent in this composition.
