Felix Landau Gallery, Los Angeles, California;

NOTE:
Dr. Annette Seeler, author of the catalog raisonné of Käthe Kollwitz's sculpture, has examined the present lot on the basis of photographs and other material and will include the specimen in the next update of the accompanying online catalog - but with the clearly formulated reservation that definitive authentication is fundamentally impossible in the case of stucco and plaster casts without careful and verifiable information on extensive provenance.
Condition Report*:
Presents well. Scattered fine surface cracks. A few areas of loss to the glaze, particularly affecting the edges of the work. Some rubbing to the glaze at areas of high relief.
