The Vargas Trust Collection

This charming study shows the careful selection of outfits and props for each Vargas Playboy. Featuring a pipe embellished with the iconic Playboy bunny, this charming blonde is wearing "Slippers by Dior, 1962" costing $350 and a corset by Vargas that cost $1500 according to the artist's inscriptions lower right corner. Playboy's art director, Art Paul's inscriptions guided the artist changes for the final composition - "Slightly Plumper Buttocks" and "Shorter Breast Line" being the more notable comments on the work.

The final version of this artwork appeared in the April 1964 issue of Playboy on page 122, with the caption "Do you think this cigar makes me look too masculine, darling?"
