The present work is published as the cover of The Deadly Sex, one of Jack Webb's Sammy Golden and Father Joseph Shanley series, which follows the hard-boiled adventures of a cop and priest. This 1961 cover for the Signet paperback edition shows the beautiful widow at the center of the mystery seen in the voyeur perspective popular for the genre. The present work is accompanied by a print out of the cover.
