ILLUSTRATED:
Habsburg, G., ed., Fabergé at Harrods, Harrods, London: 2014, p. 35, cat. no. 69.

LITERATURE:
For a similar small kovsh in the collection of the Kremlin Armory Museum, see Muntian, T., Faberge, Great Jewelers of Russia, Moscow: 2000, p. 132.

Two other kovshi of this form exist in public collections, one in the collection of the Kremlin Armoury Museum in Moscow, and the other in the McFerrin Collection in Houston. Remarkably, two other identical kovshi with duck heads and inset Petrine coins have appeared within in the last year; one was sold from the Collection of the late Mica Ertegun, Christie's New York, December 13, 2024, lot 1054, and another was sold from a private British Collection at Drewatts London, March 19, 2025, lot 86. The presence of five known models indicate that the ducks may have once comprised part of a set of six or more individual cendriers, or perhaps salts of amusing form.
