A remarkably uncommon meteorite from the Moon, this fragment of lunar Meteorite NWA 13974 was discovered only three years ago in the northwest African country of Algeria. This fragment came to Earth by way of an asteroid impact that hit the Moon, sending pieces of lunar material into orbit and eventually landing on Earth. The color of this meteorite is a lovely gray, and it has great visual appeal. This kind of material is extremely rare, and this example weighs 4.39 grams.
