The multi-motif Olympian pattern service includes examples of: Venus Born of the Sea, Orpheus in Search of his Wife, Sleeping Diana, Diana and her Nymphs, Hercules and Omphale, Bacchus and Bacchante, Bacchantes Amusing the Infant, The Sibyl, and The Satyrs Receiving Instructions on the reverse.
This Academic style service was first introduced at the 1878 Paris Exposition Universelle and was among the silver that earned Charles L. Tiffany the Grand Prix, deeming him a Chevalier of the Legion of Honor of France. Olympian was made up of seventeen patterns, some corresponding to the function of the piece, pieces were designed with sharp features so as time passed and they oxidized the pattern would develop a more relief-like appearance. It was produced until 1955.

18 banquet knives, twelve with monogram ACL and six with crest;
12 fish knives, six with impressed shell design and monogram MRLA;
11 fruit knives;
12 butter spreaders, ten with monogram AFL;
11 partial gilt butter spreaders, with monogram FSH;
12 gilt nut picks, with monogram FVW;
12 asparagus tongs, with monogram EAS;
4 sugar tongs;
18 dinner forks, eleven with monogram ACL;
12 regular forks, with monogram AFL;
12 salad forks;
6 partial gilt three-tine ruffled salad forks, with monogram GFG;
22 three-tine salad forks, fourteen partial gilt and eight with monogram AFL;
6 wavy tine salad forks, with impressed shell design and monogram MRLA;
12 fish forks;
6 olive forks;
12 oyster forks;
6 fruit forks;
12 partial gilt ice cream forks;
11 partial gilt pastry forks;
20 teaspoons, ten with monogram AFL and eight partial gilt;
12 place soup spoons;
24 bouillon soup spoons, twelve with monogram AFL;
12 gumbo spoons, with monogram AFL;
12 iced tea spoons;
12 five o'clock teaspoons, eight with heraldry and monogram;
12 demitasse spoons, five with monogram CEP, one partial gilt with monogram GFG;
12 partial gilt orange spoons, with monogram AFB;
6 partial gilt grapefruit spoons;
12 sorbet spoons;
14 ice cream spoons, twelve with monogram AFL;
6 serving spoons, with monogram MCR.

Condition Report*:
In overall very good condition. Rubbing or discoloration to areas of gilt throughout lot. Scattered pin dents along edges of some knives; deep surface scratch to one fish knife with impressed design. Slight bends and presses to fork tines found throughout. Minor areas of pressing to 2-5 spoons in lot; one spoon with heavily bent handle. Overall wear commensurate of age, handling, and use.
