A coprolite is simply fossil feces. While the concept may be as humorous as it is scientific, it is a bona fide type of trace fossil which can provide information about the creature that left it. This is a "prototypical" Dinosaur Coprolite with a polished surface and natural exterior, it has excellent coloration. There is pronouned fire-red "veining" and even some areas of a bluish hue, adding to its appeal. This is classic material from the Jurassic Morrison Formation notable for the Dinosaur discoveries there. At almost 7 inches (17.8 cm) in diameter, this piece is large and quite decorative with its smooth surface and colorful interior. "Poop" has never looked so good!
