Renowned among collectors for their dramatic daylight fluorescence, Fluorite specimens from the Rogerley Mine in County Durham exhibit a remarkable visual transformation depending on the lighting environment. Under indoor lighting, the sharply defined crystals appear transparent green. When viewed in natural daylight-particularly outdoors-the same surfaces emit an intense blue-purple fluorescence, creating a striking, almost ethereal effect. This substantial specimen features numerous intergrown Fluorite crystals, the largest measuring up to 0.75 inch (1.9 cm), all displaying excellent transparency and surface luster. Scattered throughout the matrix are lustrous octahedral Galena crystals, adding both contrast and mineralogical interest. A classic and visually dynamic specimen from one of England's most celebrated Fluorite localities, it is presented on a custom-engraved base for elegant display.
