Weighing a noteworthy 37.83 carats, the round cabochon lights up with intense play-of-color in a tightly formed pinfire pattern. The stone presents with a dark, opaque, blueish black background color, the result of industry-accepted heat treatment designed to enhance contrast and amplify the stone's visual intensity. Cut into a high-domed round cabochon with a slightly convex base and beveled girdle, this Opal is in good overall condition. A soft internal haze, resulting from the heat treatment, is present but does little to diminish the visual impact or overall appeal.
