Description

Agate Slab
Brazil

This monumental Brazilian Agate slab is breathtaking and simply beautiful. Skillfully cut and polished, both faces reveal its full geological complexity. Weighing an impressive 22 pounds (10 kilograms) and measuring over 20 inches (50.8 cm) across, this piece commands attention with its bold presence and organic, oval form. The outer perimeter retains its natural volcanic rind, a rugged, textured reminder of the ancient host rock from which it formed. The orange and tan exterior has been naturally stained by Iron, adding further color to the impactful slab. Just within the outer shell, a dramatic display of thick angular banding unfolds in layered shades of alternating dark blues, grays, and orange, guiding the eye inward toward a mesmerizing heart of crystalline Quartz. Here, a thick section of colorless Quartz and purple Amethyst anchors the composition with a complex form, creating movement and drama, shimmering under light. At its core, a large, open, drusy Quartz cavity dazzles with a grouping of fine crystal points, adding texture and depth. Additional bold purple and blue banding surrounds the cavity, creating a layered effect that feels almost sculptural. Polished to a high sheen on both sides, this slab offers dual display potential. A specimen of this size, symmetry, and beauty is an exceptional find-ideal for a statement display, a curated mineral collection, or an interior space seeking a refined natural focal point.
Measurements: 20.47 x 16.14 x 1.06 inches (52.00 x 41.00 x 2.70 cm)
