The combination of unusual coloration and a major hole result in this unique slab of Petrified Wood of the uncommon Woodworthia variety being something very special and highly collectible. This "round," which is shaped in the abstract like a spade from a deck of cards, dating to the Triassic, is both light and dark in a mysterious way, from whitish-taupe to blackish-brown hues. The swirling face, with a reflective polish, further serves to make this a supremely collectible example of a rare type of Petrified Wood. Collectors know of the material, and any comprehensive collection needs such a slab. With a maximum dimension over 14 inches (36 cm), this piece will be noticed in any display grouping.
