Elbaite specimens from Goma, one of the most important contemporary mineral finds of Africa, come in a vast array of styles. This example is on the warmer end of the spectrum, primarily colored a warm pink color that graduates from a darker shade to a lighter one towards the termination, where it suddenly and finally transitions to apple green. This specimen actually appears to be two parallel crystals, intergrown on their sides with the right side growing slightly taller than the left. A blossom of muscovite delineates the two. Overall this is a very large example from Goma, not only tall but also thick and well-rounded. An excellent example for a tourmaline collector looking for a significant African piece!

More Information: This specimen is in excellent condition, with some edge restorations on the termination, primarily on the back.
