Without backlighting, this crystal already has incredible color in the termination and from the internal "fire" under the surface, with many of the surfaces sparkling a bright raspberry pink, highly reflective due to the craquelure. The termination in particular has a beautifully modified pinacoid termination, resulting in a lovely rounded shape, and the slight translucency emphasizes both the color and the structure. However, some direct light will reveal a shockingly transparent interior (especially considering how thick this crystal is!), and a whole other world of color: bright reds, oranges, and yellows, like a deep sunset trapped in a prism. Backlit or not, this specimen is an incredible single crystal of Liddicoatite, easily one of the finest examples from Madagascar that have passed through Heritage's hands.
