Four simple Elbaite crystals (a popular species in the Tourmaline group) become a greater sum than their parts when combined in this unique, natural composition. This specimen earned the nickname "Cheval de Frise," alluding to the similar criss-cross pattern. Each of the crystals displays the classic Aricanga color combination of green, then pale yellow, then a rich raspberry pink, particularly on the longest of the crystals. This color is beautifully transparent and gives itself easily with little backlighting, and due to the dynamic composition of the specimen, this piece can be displayed any which way.
