Description

Polished "Gem" Dinosaur Bone Sphere
Jurassic
Morrison Formation
Utah, USA

Agatized Dinosaur Bone not only dates to the Jurassic Period (some 200 to 150 million years ago) but is also prized among collectors for its displayability and aesthetic appeal. The finite material features the internal cell structure of the extinct creature with black cellular walls as well as an assortment of colors representing the preserved trabecular structure of the bone. This dense sphere has been hewn out of a large piece of the prized fossil, which has been cut and polished to reveal a myriad of hues representing the marrow and blood vessel cavities as patches of predominately merlot red, mustard yellow, earthy cream, rich, deep browns and black. Additionally, areas of glimmering Quartz add a captivating shimmer when the orb is rotated and viewed from different angles. A true 360-degree specimen, each side offers a unique combination of colors. Measuring just under 2.5 inches (6.4 cm) in diameter, this orb, in excellent condition, will make the perfect accent piece for any room and is a sure conversation starter. Do not let this offering go extinct like the ancient creatures it represents.
Measurements: 2.42 inches (6.15 cm) in diameter
