This example of Bison antiquus from Texas displays a brownish coloration over the entirety of its artistic form. The partial skull includes a pair of teeth on one side of the jaw and typical horn core remnants. An offering from the Red River area, this sizable specimen is not the largest but is quite dramatic given such a relatively dark hue to its preserved bony material and the overall shape of the prehistoric buffalo skull. The inherent southwestern, decorative display charm of such a fossil is obvious with this representation.
