Description
Roweite with OlshanskyiteShijiangshan Mine (Dashishan Mine), Hexigten Banner, Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia, China
15 x 10 x 4 cm (5.91 x 3.94 x 1.57 in)
This specimen takes a combination of relatively obscure minerals and presents them fabulously-and in great quantities-across a plate of host rock. Centered on the display are aggregates of light to dark brown, flattened Roweite crystals that are both substantial (reaching 2.0 centimeters) and well-formed, compared to other specimens that have been discovered. Sparkling white, transparent crystals of Olshankyite border one side of the specimen, bringing a lovely balance to the display.
From the collection of Daniel "Dan" R. Kennedy.
