This behemoth gemstone is a beautiful Smoky Quartz from the iconic gemstone locality of Sri Lanka (Ceylon). The gigantic stone weighs 913 carats and features modified brilliant facets. The oval rounded-shaped Quartz variety displays an appealing brownish yellow bodycolor with intense scintillation and good brilliance. Due to the large size, the pavilion is deep, allowing for windowing, but displays eye-clean clarity. There are only a few small nicks to the girdle; otherwise, the giant stone is in excellent condition. Cut and faceted stones of this size and caliber are rare, making this a fascinating offering. A substantial, clean, transparent gemmy crystal was needed to create such a significant showpiece.
