This rare and exceptionally well-preserved fossil Palm Flower, of undetermined species, is notable for its delicate structure and unusually large size. The fine anatomical detail captures the radiating petals and organic symmetry of the ancient bloom with remarkable clarity. Accompanying the flower is a fossil fish of the genus Knightia, an early herring species, positioned as though swimming past the plant-creating a naturalistic scene that evokes the ecology of the Eocene lake environment. The matrix exhibits the warm golden tones characteristic of the F-2 Horizon of the Green River Formation, a layer prized for its aesthetic and preservation quality. A striking and scientifically significant specimen, cleated for secure wall display, representing both botanical and vertebrate fossilization from one of the world's most important fossil deposits.
