Doc Savage, the Man of Bronze, is a classic pulp hero who was introduced to a generation of readers through James Bama's hyper-realistic and vigorous covers for Bantam Books. In this cover for The Devil's Playground, Bama presents Doc Savage as a muscular, larger-than-life figure, his trademark tattered shirt revealing his powerful physique. The cover exudes tension and mystery, with Savage poised in action with hatchets raised against the menacing ghost chief, evoking the danger and adventure that awaits in the story.

The present work is published as the cover of Doc Savage: The Devils Playground #25 by Kenneth Robeson (Bantam, 1968).
