This massive Smoky Quartz specimen complete with a "sidecar" crystal is presented on a custom swivel wood 'old-school' Sunnywood base (mineral collectors will appreciate the reference). From Brazil, the elongated gray-brown point towers 8 inches (20 cm) above the base. The attached crystal measures 6 inches (15 cm) and adds a complex dimensionality to the specimen. This example of the Smoky variety of Quartz is relatively clear with a lot of visible natural inclusions. One area of the large face has an odd patch from inside the rock that makes it appear flawed when it most definitely is not. The primary huge crystal exhibits sharp edge and, virtually, no damage. The "sidecar" is not perfect but visually appealing.
