Description
AmethystAmatitlán, Eduardo Neri Municipality, Guerrero, Mexico
11.3 x 10.7 x 7.4 cm (4.4 x 4.2 x 2.9 in)
A striking and highly sculptural arrangement of instantly recognizable Amatitlán Amethyst, beautifully displayed across a thin crest of matrix. The piece is composed of elongated, prismatic crystals-some reaching an impressive 5.8 centimeters in length-that exhibit exceptional luster and a watery transparency. Each crystal tapers elegantly to a sharp termination, with most showing distinct amethystine-purple phantoms framed by nearly colorless edges. Associations of smaller, colorless Quartz points dust the remaining exposed matrix, giving the piece an added contrast and shimmering visual.
More Information: This piece is in great condition with some minor bruising and a couple partially missing crystals, all of which do not detract much from the specimen's overall presentation.
