Originally designed and ordered in 1841 for the Heir-Tsesarevich and Grand Duke Alexander Nikolaevich, son of Emperor Nicholas I, this banqueting and dessert service was expanded until the reign of Nicholas II. The offered lot is from the period of Alexander III.
