These matched cut and polished halves of an Ammonite feature hollow chambers of which crystals have filled in several of the cavities. Golden Calcite has replaced much of the inner shell material resulting in a colorful array of hues. The outside of the fossilized shell exhibits iridescent coloring. The tip of one of the two pieces has a small chip. At nearly 5.5 inches (13.97 cm) in diameter, they are big enough to impress.
