This sculptural 41.61-gram specimen hails from the Aletai (also known as Altay) strewn field in China's Xinjiang Province. Composed primarily of Nickel-Iron, the piece displays a naturally lustrous metallic surface with sharply defined regmaglypts and flow lines-classic hallmarks of the atmospheric entry. Aletai Meteorites are classified as "Ungrouped Irons" and are thought to be fragments of a much larger parent body that broke apart in deep space.
