This breathtaking painting is perhaps the finest example of Jessie Willcox Smith's art we have ever offered. It has been off the market and residing in the same family collection since at least 1941. The painting was reproduced as color plate 78 in Jessie Willcox Smith: American Illustrator by Edward D. Nudelman.
