Description

Megalodon Shark Tooth
Otodus megalodon
Miocene
North Carolina, USA
2.19 x 1.95 x 0.44 inches (5.57 x 4.95 x 1.13 cm)

This fossilized Megalodon tooth displays the impressive triangular form and serrated edge typical of the species, one of the largest sharks to have ever lived. The crown retains a glossy enamel surface with visible vertical striations, while the broad root exhibits a rich dark brown coloration that contrasts strongly with the blade. Measuring over 2 inches (5 cm) from tip to root, the specimen captures the scale and power of this prehistoric apex predator. A striking piece for collectors, this tooth embodies the enduring fascination with the deadly Megalodon.
