This Subasaphus from Russia exhibits the classic caramel coloration of many similar fossils from that region and features moderately extended evolutionary "eye stalks" on this variety of arthropod that developed the first compound visual systems. The hardened shell of this fossil appears solid and highly complete, with no visible cracking or discoloration. The attractive specimen is fully elongated and seems ready to 'crawl' right off the rock and come back to life! Such Trilobites are highly prized, and this one demonstrates the reasons why.
