Inscription: GEORGE RIDDLE WRIGHT December twenty-five nineteen hundred and seven
American Presentation and Trophy Silver from the Collection of J.D. Parks
The standing cup with waisted bowl, hand hammered surface embellished with chased repoussé motif of oak leaves and acorn at rim flanking C-form handles and at center front and back of domed waisted base with naturalistic vine rim, inscription to center front.
George Riddle Wright (1851-1932) of Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, graduated from Princeton College in 1873, and went to read law under the direction of his father, the Honorable Hendrick Bradley Wright. Remaining unmarried, he participated in numerous clubs and charities, serving as Vice President of the Humane Society and President of the United Charities of Wilkes-Barre.
The Cup was presented on Christmas day, 1907. Around this time he served as Director of the Wilkes-Barre Water Company, and then as its president, followed by directorship of the Wilkes-Barre Electric Light Company, and than organized and led the First National Bank at Dallas, Luzerne County.

Condition Report*:
The cup presents well with a single small dent to reverse on belly. It is not easily discerned due to the hammered surface.
