This exquisite gemstone sculpture by renowned Peruvian artist Luis Alberto Quispe Aparicio showcases masterful craftsmanship and a vibrant palette of natural materials. The hummingbird is intricately carved from rich Ruby sourced from Tanzania, with a polished cabochon Ruby eye and elegantly formed beak and feet cast in Gold vermeil. Ingeniously designed, the bird is removable-its slender beak inserts seamlessly into one of the sculpted rosebuds. Surrounding the bird are eleven delicately carved blossoms of soft baby pink Peruvian Opal, each set upon a gracefully textured Gold vermeil stem that adds warmth and refinement to the composition. The entire arrangement is mounted on a lustrous slab of Labradorite, chosen for its fine polish and vivid labradorescence, which radiates flashes of blue and green from within.
