Rhodonite from Russia is known for its striking color combination. The stone has been used for centuries to create amazing decorative pieces, and this example is no different. It has an intense pink-red hue with stark black veins of manganese oxide running throughout. The black veins make dramatic patterns adding to the overall appearance of the box. The inside is lined with black stone and finished with a gold-plated piano hinge. The bottom has been completed with black stone and felt feet.
