Besednice Moldavite is uncommon and spectacular by its very nature, but several pieces are even more special, such as this broccoli-shaped specimen. Of course, it is the relatively immense size that makes this such a singular offering. This representation weighs a whopping 30.8 grams which puts it in the upper echelon by size for such material. A pronounced curvature to this dark green stalk results in a magnificent impactite. This type of Tektite was made by a single meteorite impact, some 15 million years ago, in southern Germany, which ejected this projectile glass from the Nordinger Ries Crater to as far away as Austria and the Czech Republic. Boasting a dark forest green hue and evidencing a vitreous luster, this piece is collectible for many reasons and definitely for its size.
