This museum-quality Tanzanite in matrix originates from only one locality on the planet - Merelani Hills in Tanzania. This represents a generational stone expected to be exhausted within the next 30 years. The mine has already reached a depth of 1.5 kilometers. This is a spectacular example because it displays natural color, no heat treatment, and is in perfect condition with no damage or repairs. Furthermore, this top example is on matrix of other Tanzanite's allowing this piece to display beautifully versus just a single crystal. There is minor white Calcite and green Prehnite in association, creating a superbly balanced specimen. It has a mass of 248 grams and comes with a custom engraved lucite display base. Unlike most Tanzanite specimens, this example is so gemmy it does not require backlighting for display. This is a one-of-a-kind piece with a rare buying opportunity.
