Description

NWA 13119 Lunar Meteorite Slice
Lunar (feldspathic breccia)
Mauritania
Found: 2019

A thin but expansive meteorite slice, measuring some 8 inches (20 cm) at maximum diagonal dimension, this piece weighing 118 grams represents captivating lunar material. This slab of the Moon is one classic feldspathic breccia with its polished primary display face replete with visually-stunning clasts of various sizes in a mix of grayish and whitish hues in contrast to its charcoal black body color. The size, shape, and quality of this thin slab are incomparable, and this is an ideal large example for any significant collection. The irregular and jagged rind of the meteoric slice offers a reddish clay hue, adding a further contrast to the superlative variety of lunar meteorite. With an excellent shape and a relatively massive surface area, this offering is virtually pristine and represents an outstanding opportunity to acquire a museum-quality lunar meteorite slice of NWA 13119, which was found in Mauritania in 2019 and looks like a piece of art.
Measurements: 7.48 x 5.24 x 0.11 inches (19.00 x 13.30 x 0.29 cm), weighs 117.7 grams
