Large Tiffany Stone Box

A true master lapidary created this box, evident by the intricate cutting and polishing of the Tiffany Stone. The lid is inlaid with an almost mirroring effect with two pieces of this opalized Fluorite variety. Varying shades of regal purple, haunting grays and browns are contrasted with flashes of white in a "crackled" pattern. Under closer inspection, there are tiny sections of clear Quartz in the stone veins. This box is finished with black Diabase (Dolerite) with glimmering specks of Tachylite, a type of glass. Inside the box is a Spanish Cedar lining and inset gold-plated brass hinges. This box is in excellent condition and has been stamped with the artist's serial number "0529." The piece is not just decorative, but also a functioning statement item. It comes with a protective, velvet lined outer box.
