Description
Red BerylRuby Violet claims (Violet mine; Red Emerald mine; Harris mine)
Wah Wah Mts, Beaver Co.
Utah, USA
An extremely rare mineral, Red Beryl only comes from a couple of localities, with the Wah Wah Mountains, which produced this glorious collector example, being the most iconic in the United States. This true gem of a specimen consists of two beautiful crystals with great saturated color and excellent form. The long crystal is extremely gemmy near the tip, and both captivating dark red hued columns are impressive. The piece offers wonderful contrast as the colorful Red Beryl crystals stand out in stark contrast against its whitish granular rhyolitic matrix. While these have been referred to by multiple inaccurate vernacular names over time, Red Beryl can stand alone as a rare and special species. This is a classic representation from the top locality for the variety. The highly collectible example comes with a custom engraved acrylic base for attractive display.
